Tewkesbury Rotary Club

Tewkesbury Rotary Club are raising monies for the school this year.

The Rotary Club of Tewkesbury is an active, dual-gender club striving to further the aims of Rotary, and make Tewkesbury an even better place to live and help the deserving underprivileged of the Town.

~ Generous Rotarians donated £1,000 from their charity concert in the Abbey  to AKS as a boost to our bid to become a specialist school for Communication and Interaction.

Andrew Turner, concert organiser, said; "This is what Rotary is all about - creating win-win situations for organisations who need our support."

"This year we chose Alderman Knight School as our main charity to benefit from the concert so that its growth and development can be continued now that its future has been confirmed having come so close to closure a couple of years ago."

The Club plan to support the school further in the coming year to help us achieve our specialist status.

Rotary hosted a very successful Vintage and Classic Car Rally  on Sunday 7th September at Bredon. Because of the unkind weather, the venue was moved at the last minute from the Bredon Cricket Club to Station Drive in Bredon. Despite this there were crowds of people to look at the cars on show. There were some outstanding examples displayed, with lots to drool over!

There were prizes for Best in Show, Whackiest - a van with skeleton attached!, Furthest travelled, Oldest and The one you'd most like to take home.

All in all it was a terrific event and we are most grateful for the ongoing support from Rotary.
