Prospectus >>

My name is Clare Steel and I am the head teacher of Alderman Knight School. I have been in post since September 2006 and it is a position I feel extremely privileged to have.

Alderman Knight is a very successful and well-established special school for children aged 4 to 16 with moderate and additional learning difficulties, complex needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorders [ASD].  The majority of these children live within the Tewkesbury and North Cotswolds area but the school is also able to take pupils from outside the local area as the need arises.

The school has an excellent reputation and has a highly skilled and dedicated staff team who work together to ensure all children experience an exciting curriculum tailored to meet their individual needs. As a result there is a safe, caring and supportive ethos that enables them to be happy at school and achieve well in their learning. This was recognised by the recent OfSTED inspection [November 2007]. I have included the summary statement from this report as I feel it will help to give you an indication of what makes this school ‘special’. A copy of the whole report is available on the school’s website or directly from the school.

I hope the rest of this prospectus will also help you find out more about our school. However it can only tell you about the school, it cannot really show you what it is like being at the school. Therefore if you would like to know more please come and visit us.

The telephone number of the school office is 01684 295639. Please feel free to ring at any time and we will be very happy to arrange for you to have a tour of the school and to ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to hearing from you

Yours sincerely

Clare Steel
