Basepoint Sunflower Competition

Along with many other schools across the South of England and the Midlands, we are taking part in this sunflower growing competition run by Basepoint, who, with their parent company, the Act Foundation, have already helped raise a considerable sum of money for the school as well as supporting us in other ways. As well as having the chance to win some vouchers for the school, we will of course also be learning about how things grow. Mathematical skills will come into it as the sunflowers will be measured by height, thickness of stem and span of headseed as well, although in the event of a tie, the height will be the determining factor.
In addition, there is a chance to win an artist set by entering the colouring competition!!! The picture to be coloured in is available in school as well as via the link below - you can have a bit of extra fun and see how many Basepoint "B's" you can spot hidden in the picture! All entries for this need to be handed into school by the 18th June at the very latest please.
We will of course be adding photos as our flowers grow!
