Count Me In Cooking Sessions

The event which was funded by both "Count Me In" and "Wiggly Worm" was very well attended with a wide age range in the audience.
We were treated to demonstrations of particular knife skills such as the formation of either a "bridge hand" or a "claw hand" when slicing food:

We also had the opportunity to smell a wide range of herbs and spices:
Rob Rees then went on to prepare two dishes: Chicken Breast with Homemade Ratatouille and a Chorizo Sauce, and Salmon with Couscous Salad and Chutney Dressing:
As he prepared both dishes, he pointed out the nutritional and economical benefits of cooking meals using fresh ingredients along with useful buying tips as well as variations or alternative ingredients that could be used. For copies of the recipes used, please click the links below:

This session led the Cookery Sessions that are now taking place at the school for families living in Tewkesbury, who to date have enjoyed learning about and making dishes with Meat, Fish, Breads and Pasta and who will be looking at Vegetables and Vegetarian Dishes this week:
