The school provides a very wide range of learning opportunities that extend and enrich our curriculum through educational visits and extra curricular activities, including ten-pin bowling, swimming, climbing, cinema, theatre and residential trips for all pupils in the summer terms. To support this the school has a 15 seat Ford Minibus fitted with full lap and diagonal seatbelts for safety. All drivers have passed the necessary test to drive a vehicle to this size and hold the relevant Certificate of Proficiency issued by Gloucestershire County Council. The minibus is regularly serviced in accordance with the requirements of Gloucestershire County Council.

Every year the school seeks to provide pupils with the opportunity to experience, exciting, challenging and inspiring activity holidays. The benefits to the children are absolutely huge; all gain in confidence, independence and self-belief while having a great time, developing and strengthening friendships and creating memories that last a very long time!

This year the school is planning holidays to PGL centres in  RedRidge and Tregoyd in Wales for pupils in Key Stage 3 and an activity holiday in Brean, Somerset for pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2 children.

In December a number of Key Stage 4 pupils went to London for three days where among other things they went to see the theatre production of Lord of the Rings.

During the summer holiday there are two weeks of activities, visits and days out that children can choose to attend.  In addition to providing exciting and fun activities for our children these activity weeks are available for children from local schools with additional needs.

Paying for Extra –curricular activities

Voluntary contributions from parents to cover costs of visits are requested. Where parents cannot afford to contribute this factor will not prevent their child from going on the visit in school time. It follows, however that where there are insufficient contributions it may not be possible for the visit to go ahead. Where parents experience financial difficulty over payment for trips, they should contact the Head teacher in confidence, as it may be possible to gain support from other sources of funding.
