Juniors visit to Hayden Sewage Treatment Works

WE had a really interesting visit to the Sewage Treatment Works near Cheltenham. Our guide Sarah showed us around some of the site so we could see how the sewage is treated to make it clean before it goes back into the rivers.

Making a disgusting Sewage Stew! Don't ask what went in it!
Another disgusting Sewage Stew. After we made it we then had to find a way of cleaning up the water using sieves, sand and filters. Everybody managed to make their samples look a lot cleaner than when they started!
All in all it was a very good day!
