From Monday 28th February until Friday 4th March, our usual subjects took on a Welsh flavour as we looked at the history and culture of Wales and compared it with England.  Here are some of the activities that took place during this very enjoyable and informative week!

Jacob (2H) with his handmade daffodil.

Hannah (3T) waving the flag for Wales!

Welsh flavours............  George (3E) making a delicious dish of Leek & Ham Gratin and 2P enjoying producing some fragrant Welsh Cakes.

Research work carried out by Makkenzy (3K) and a Welsh love spoon examined by James (3F):

We looked at the Welsh artist Kyffin Williams and his wonderful use of paint, which led to experimenting with applying paint using palette knives ourselves.  Below, Jack (3E) works on his vibrant sunset over the sea:

Myths, legends and the lives of saints also featured this week, the photos below showing Lukas' (3E) mythical creature and Ellie's (2EHW) picture of St David:

This highly successful week ended with a return visit by some pupils from Heronsbridge School whom our pupils had visited at the beginning of the week:

Many thanks to Mrs Silverthorn in particular for all her hard work which made this week possible!
