Pupils from S2 were entered for the nationally recognised Young Enterprise Scheme. This programme encourages pupils to set up their own company which involved identifying a marketable product or service which is then set up to run throughout the academic year.
Last year over 40,000 students formed more than 3,100 companies.
As part of the scheme pupils in S2 recently attended the Glos. Trade Exhibition where they, along with many other Glos schools exhibited their company activities to compete in the following categories:
- Best exhibition stand
- Sales and marketing
- Product with the most retail impact
- Best manufactured product
- Most innovative product
- Best team programme company
We are pleased to be able to report that we achieved
- First prize - Most Innovative product
- Third prize - Best Manufactured product
- Commendation for Best Exhibition stand
These awards are the culmination of considerable hard work by all pupils. Adam and Emma had to appear before independent judges who then assessed how well the company performed against the judging criteria for each of the categories. Both Adam and Emma were outstanding in this role.
Pupils will now go on to achieve OCR accreditted Unit Awards. If pupils achieve all four units they will pass Entry Level Certificate Accreditation.
