Science
All pupils at AKS have science lessons.
Pupils cover the same subjects as they would in mainstream school. Working in small groups, with careful help from the teacher, they are able to have all of the experiences and types of lessons they would expect in other schools, but delivered in a way that meets their needs.
Each year they can expect to learn about;
Light
Sound
Electricity and magnets
The human body
Animals and plants
Their enviroment
Energy
Forces
The Earth in space
Materials, substances and chemical reactions.
They are also taught how to carry out all kinds of practicial activities and scientific investigations.
Every child follows courses which lead to G.C.S.E. or "Entry Level" and examination results are very good.
